Govan stretches his hands like the rest of the technical guitar wizards of today. The fluidity of his solo lines are melodic, not falling into the check-out-my-moves department of guitar work. Can’t ignore his virtuosity either – his guitar licks occasionally give off vibes of a Vai-ish sound. But a good amount of his guitar work pulls influence from Joe Pass.
I doubt this post concerns that many people. But for those who do like instrumental guitar albums, give this one a shot. You might end up liking Erotic Cakes. HAHA. That was funny.
